3. How do we process your personal data?
3.1 Creating an account
You can create an account to track your walks and follow others. When you register for an account we ask you to provide some basic information about yourself:
- Name
- E-mail address
- Password
We process this data as it is necessary to deliver the WaterWalksservices to you.
3.2 Using WaterWalks
As a registered user, you can start using WaterWalks. You can automatically track your route using the GPS tracking function, add photos, videos, audio and text of what you encounter during your walk as well as water-quality measurements. And if you regret sharing certain information, you can delete it. You can do so in your profile section on the app and website.
Don’t want to track your GPS location during your walk? Feel free to turn off the GPS tracking by disabling ‘Track footsteps’ on the top left corner in the map. You are in control. We will explain this in detail below.
Depending on how you use WaterWalks, we process the following data:
- Your personal info, such as your name, biography text and e-mail address
- Your location
- Your added content, such as photos, videos, audio, text, likes, comments, and more
- The walks you participated to
- Your searches
- Whom you follow and who follows you
- Technical information to make WaterWalks work well, such as your IP-address, device type, browser type, screen size and preferred language
We process this data as it is necessary for the performance of the service.
You can delete all of your added content whenever you like. When you do, it will no longer be visible to others and be deleted from our servers. You can also delete your entire account. To do this you can send us an email at info@ludwiglive.nl
When you do, we will delete all of your data 90 days after, so please download your data beforehand. If you haven’t used WaterWalks for more than six years we will send you two reminders to ask you if you still want us to keep your data. If there is no response, we will permanently delete your account.
Location data
With WaterWaks you can track your walks and the experiences along the way. To make this possible we process your location data. For each individual walk you can choose if you want to share only geo-localised media contentand/or to track your entire route automatically.
- Sharing content – You can add photos, videos, audio, text and water-quality measurements: your own personal connection to the water, from unique birds and plants to found objects and personal stories. Every post you share is automatically geo-localised and will be visible for people on the map. The legal basis is performance of the service with you.
- Automatic – for a better experience, you can have us track your route automatically. When you do, you will be able to see and share every step on the way. When we know your location we can also send you recommendations for things that others saw and experienced on the same walk. Via our website and on the app, people can see the route you walked. We will only track your route with your consent.
